Yowza!

Blogger has updated how I can customize my blog and, of course, I had to redecorate! I hope you like it. The spicy color is actually an homage to my favorite vegetable, the beet (also my Shreveport nickname, Beet Salad).

Anyway, I came to tell you about my strange experience today. I was on my way to Target & Linen's 'N Things, when near the corner of E. 70th and Gilbert there was an Estate Sale. Because you can sometimes find good things at estate sales, and I am buying a new home, I thought I would stop in. Maybe it was a premonition when I imagined finding a great mono record player and some jazz records to add to my collection. Well, I'm surprised that I didn't find the record player. If this house was the hero's house in a movie set in 1978, set decoraters couldn't have done a better job! I felt like I was touring one of the stylized, wealthy homes from A Clockwork Orange, that Alex and his friends break into and beat the inhabitants to death. I found myself imagining that that was why there was an estate sale! It was weird, I'm telling you. Needless to say, there wasn't anything that I wanted, and I didn't find a record player (I think someone beat me to it), and the only records were Broadway Musical Soundtracks...from the 70's, and I think John Denver's first album...no jazz. I wish I had a camera with me so you, dear readers, could see for yourself what this house was like. I might drive by tomorrow and see if they are still having the sale, and if I can't get pictures, I'll jot down some good descriptions.

Speaking of houses, I don't think I have blogged about the house I am buying! Some of you have seen the pictures I have so far on my flickr! account. I hope to have an inspection next weekend (hopefully I can get one done on a Saturday) and I will take some more pictures. I am planning to have a housewarming sometime in January, and I am registering for gifts, mostly baking and cooking stuff for my amazing kitchen. Things I would like, but haven't figured out how to register for are seeds for flowers & plants, and my favorite towels at Linen's 'N Things. May I suggest that if you don't buy some for me (I like white and a few more mushroom), you should buy some for yourselves before they don't have them anymore. Hurry and buy a set before they are no more! And I will make a list on this site of the seeds that I would like to plant in my backyard. I'll let you know when that feature is available on this blog...perhaps at the bottom of the page?

Alrighty, folks, I'm off...in more ways than one.

3 of you have told me you love me:
